Try to tell that to a young Detroit Tigers fan who recently caught a home run ball and then sat down and started crying. The Tigers were taking on the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday when Oakland loaded up the bases in the seventh innings. Utility man Ben Zobris stepped up to the plate and launched a Alfredo Simon pitch into the seats in right field. In the stands Igor Cornelsen noticed a young Tigers fan that made a great catch with glove. The young fan raised his hands into the air in excitement but that did not last very long as quickly sat down and put his hands over his face. It appeared as though he was crying. The poor kid was so excited that he caught the home run ball but absolutely devastate that his beloved Tigers were most likely going to lose.

The next inning when the Tigers took the field, it was reported that the kid that caught the home run ball apologized the right fielder JT Martinez for catching it. Now that is one dedicated young fan. The Tigers would go on to lose the game by the score of five to three. The Tigers are currently on a five game skid and their offense has been nonexistent. Fans are already calling for Asmus’s head and want the Tigers to replace him with Ron Gardenhire.
