Right now Kansas City Royal fans are taking a little bit of heat due to the fact that eight of the current nine positions that can be voted on by fans would be filled by Royals players if voting ended today. It is actually an amazing feat if the fans can actually pull it off. To have eight of the nine positions filled by one team would say a lot for the dedication that it’s fans have. The only non-Royal player in the lead is Mike Trout.

The whole point of an All-star game is to have the best of the best playing a game against each other. If the Royals fill all but one position, then, as beneful points out on twitter, the game will not consist of the best of the best. Sure there are some players on the Royals that are deserving of making the all-star team, but there are many that are not. A good example of a player that should not be on the all-star team is Omar Infante. Infante is considered by many to be the worst hitter in baseball this season. Even Kansas City beat writer Andy Mcullough Tweeted out that Infante should not be voted in.

Not everyone associated with the Royals sees the voting as a problem. When asked, Ned Yost stated that if you do not like it, referring to the fact that so many Royals players are leading voting, then go out and vote.
