The only people there were the media, players and coaches. Now, the employees who missed that week of work are getting paid. This is the right thing to do as it wasn’t their fault that there were riots in the area. They could have moved the game to another city, but they didn’t want to let the bad actions of others get in the way of playing a ball game in their hometown. The employees make up the sport. It will only be the hourly employees who will get paid, but this is better than nothing as they don’t make as much money as the players or coaches. They put forth their time and effort just like everyone else. This is a remarkable action by the team that Igor thinks should be commended.

A Game With No Fans http://bvbankballpark.com/2015/04/a-game-with-no-fans/ http://bvbankballpark.com/2015/04/a-game-with-no-fans/#comments Thu, 30 Apr 2015 14:48:43 +0000 http://bvbankballpark.com/?p=260 It is a sad state of affairs when a baseball team has to play a game with no spectators. The Baltimore Orioles decided to not allow anyone but the media, coaches and players to watch the game that was played only a few days after the protests in Baltimore. There are pictures of the empty stands and the bored looks on the faces of the players on both teams captured by photographer Adam Sender. The city of Baltimore should be ashamed because of the actions that they have taken. Those who were involved in the protests were acting like children, and this is the result of those actions. Baseball players fear for the safety of those who enjoy the sport and who would have been there to support them. Cities in the country need to wake up and take a step back, looking at the potential harm that their decisions could inflict.
